Hello, parents!
We're in the middle of a unit that I'm pretty excited about, and I'm excited about what we're learning right now! We're working on resumes and cover letters this week, and hopefully everyone will leave with at least a little more knowledge of how to get a job when they get a little older.
Here's a brief run-down of what we're doing this week:
Monday- learn about resumes
Tuesday- learn about Microsoft Word's resume wizard and go to the library to begin making resumes
Wednesday- learn about cover letters
Thursday- abstinence in class
Friday- abstinence in class
Monday in class, we are learning about resumes. We will discuss what should be included in a resume, as well as what a resume looks like. Tuesday, we will learn about the resume wizard on Microsoft Word so that they will be able to make their resumes in class, and then we will go to the library to begin writing resumes. Wednesday, we will learn about cover letters, and I will give the classes a handout about what should be included in a cover letter.
Thursday and Friday, we are having abstinence in class.
Here is the homework that your student will have this week in English class:
Monday and Tuesday- work on making the resume for the person that he/she is researching
Friday- reading logs are due
If you have any questions about anything in this class, please feel free to contact me. You can email me at kwalls@byngschools.com, or you can call the school at 580-310-6744. Have a great day!
